I was wondering if this site would include the new grand beach Skatepark by the Tennis courts.

I may be still young, but my family has been apart of Grand beach since first when the railway was being built. We had owned a cottage on 1st Street, which made it walking distance to the boardwalk and the resturant and where the old dance hall used to be.
The cottage had no plumbing whatsoever, we had to bring water for everything, and walk to the public bathrooms everytime. This cottage belonged to my late great grandmother who I called Great Nanny or called by my older second cousins "Grandma Tinnie"
There are wonderful stories that could be told. The times spent on the sand, in the water, and moments of laughter and joy spent in our tiny cabin, sadly we sold it after "Tinnie" passed on, its still there with a new owner, freshly painted and we are happy that someone is taking good care of it.

Great that your site is online again. People deserve to have information about one of Manitoba's premium resort areas.
Greetings

P.S. I did have to put on my glasses to be able to read the security code. I guess we are all getting older. :-(

If I could I would spend all my time there. I miss the beach so much and can't wait to get back out their. I'd much rather go to grand beach than anywhere, it holds nothing but happy memories

I spent my younger years and many summers at my Grandfather's cottage at Grand Beach. This was 55 - 60 years ago. Our cottage was called Leicester Square and I am sure it is gone now. I recall walking to the sandy beach to swim via a big rock we called the rock of gibralter, Spent many hours climbing on it. At the end of our street was what we called the rocky beach and spent many hours playing there also. My brother used to help the fishermen and sell there fish to the cottage dwellers. If this rings any bells with anyone I would love to hear. I am coming to Winnipeg this summer and plan on making a trip to Grand beach. Many happy childhood memories there.

Just ONE of the many, many, reasons Manitobans love the lake Winnipeg beaches, Grand Beach being the best, is that it has the best in the world fresh water white sand beaches. I've been going there, and loving it for almost 40 years and the lake Winnipeg beaches compare favorably to any beaches anywhere incloding those in Florida and Hawai. I know know, I've been to many of them.
Thank you for this website.

Grand Beach and Lester Beach are just the best places to go all year round. My family spends all our free time going out to our cottage and enjoying the beach and hiking/skiing/snomobiling/ trails, happy hour on the deck and so much more. We have met so many friends that we cannot imagine ever not being able to go there. My parents have liked it so much that they have decided to live there

I remember as a child in the late 50's, going to the boardwalk at Grand Beach, and playing Bingo with my big sister. If we won, depending on how much, we got to pick our prize from items hanging from the ceiling! I also remember buying nicknack things dispensed in plastic balls, from a vending machine that cost a quarter. Once I remember my sister "winning" an actual cigarette lighter (the old fashioned kind that you filled with fluid and that had flints). I can't imagine what they were thinking, putting that type of item in a vending machine that was mostly used by children! I also remember once getting a miniature bible, about 1 inch square! Amazing what a quarter would buy back then, eh?
